In the third episode of our Dresden Files story the crew is trying to figure out who killed the female country singer and what the heck is her name anyway?
If you want to hear the continuation of the story go to our Facebook page and leave us a comment.
We continue with the seminal stage of our epic Dungeons and Dragons campaign.
In episode 3 we create the historical timeline of our world with Microscope.
The nations of the world meet in council to discuss a great threat to the world. Will this first world council start a long period of peace and cooperation? Where’s the fun in that?
Everyone wants to be Harry Dresden. Except maybe Harry Dresden. And people who haven’t read Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files books, in which case, get thee hence to a bookstore! Assuming you’ve done this already, the Dresden Files RPG is the perfect solution to the eternal wait for the next book in the series. This licensed product is made up of two core books: Volume One: Your Story, and Volume Two: Our World. Your Story provides all the game mechanics and systemy bits you need to get started using the popular Fate RPG system. Our World gives you everything you need to populate your game with awesome things from the books. Meet with your favorite characters for a pint at Mac’s or take a trip through the Nevernever to save the world. Don’t forget your blasting rod.
In the second half of Dawn of Worlds, the crew populates the new world with races, cities and organizations that will drive the world. Good trolls, evil gnomes, long dead elves; these are just a few of the unusual things going on in this world
The Dresden Files RPG uses the FATE system as the engine to run RPGs in the universe of Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files. This is a world that is much like the Earth today, except werewolves, demons, vampires, zombies, faeries, sprites, and magic actually exist along with all the modern-day conveniences to which we have become accustomed.
In this RPG, the game master works with the players to build the city they adventure in, in a cooperative exercise which lends itself to intertwined stories and motives. Rather than focus on attributes, the character sheets for this game include not only skills and equipment, but a type of descriptor called an ‘Aspect’ (a short phrase or word, such as “quiet as a mouse”, or “quick to anger”) that is used to motivate the game and move the story along.
This is the first episode of our extended campaign for D&D 5th edition. In this episode we play Dawn of Worlds to create the world in which our campaign will be based. In this episode we create the physical geography and climate of the world. This episode is probably only for the hardcore gamer as it is a bit dry.
In episode 2 we will begin adding races, cities and other aspects. Episode 2 will be a little more interactive and may be a better place to start listening if your aren’t into the real nuts and bolts of creating a world.
You have been warned!
In the continuation of our Everyone is John game the insanity escalates! More mayhem and craziness take over the streets of the Music City.
Drag racing in stolen police cars, armed robbery and why does John keep going back to the convent? This episode of Rollin Nerdy is definitely NSFW. Listener discretion is advised.
In this episode we explore the free form and free game Everyone is John. Everyone Is John is one of the quickest, simplest RPG’s out there, created by Michael B. Sullivan The main concept is that every player but one plays a voice in “John’s” head. All of these voices are trying to get John to do something that they like. The funniest thing about this game is your voice can make him want to do ANYTHING. (I mean ANYTHING)
This episode is definitely NSFW. Apologies for the sound but at points the crew gets a little overexcited and talks all at once. Apologies also for some inappropriate but hilarious moments. If you enjoy this episode you definitely have some issues…and the Rollin Nerdy crew would definitely like to hang out with you!
In the conclusion of our Basic D & D game, the gang continues exploring the module Keep on the Borderlands.
Goblins, hobgoblins and minotaurs, oh my! It’s old school gaming at its best.
In this episode of the Rollin Nerdy Podcast we kick it old school with the original RPG: Basic Dungeons and Dragons. The Angry Nerd Danny takes the reigns as DM in the classic D&D adventure Keep on the Borderlands.
